Biography
Mexican born Yesenia Serratos has been evolving as both an interpretive artist and choreographer over a decade of dedicated work in the dance community. Fueled by a passion for dance that began in her native city, Yesenia was drawn to the United States where she continued her dancing in Ballet, Jazz, and Contemporary.
Beginning her dance career in Chicago, Yesenia performed as member with such companies as: Joel Hall Dancers and Luna Negra Dance Theater. Three years of experience performing and teaching Jazz and Ballet, she decided to continue her dance journey in Los Angeles where she first found Simi Dance Center becoming the Ballet Instructor and Choreographer, she also became a member of the companies Los Angeles Choreographers and Dancers and Media City Ballet as a performer and instructor all around LA area.
Yesenia has trained in many other different styles of dance, including salsa, cha cha, ballroom, and hustle. She has performed in different theatres in LA including the Kodak Theatre, Greek Theatre, Nokia Theatre LA Live, and the Gibson Amphitheater at Universal CityWalk.
She recently teaches, performs, and competes in salsa, cha cha, hustle, and ballroom dances with her dance partner Raul Santiago. Yesenia has found a passion for Latin Jazz, a fusion of the vibrant jazz technique and latin rhythms, performing, teaching and choreographing.
